SUSTAINABLE RESPONSIBLE ECO-FRIENDLY

“Here at Donington Fish and Chips we believe good food should never come at the cost of the planet. That is why sustainability isn’t just a buzzword here, it is ‘fried’ into everything we do”

From responsibly sourced fish that meets certified standards, to biodegradable packaging that keeps our footprint light, we’ve made it our mission to serve up Britain’s favourite dish with a side of environmental care. Our waste oil is recycled, our energy is green where possible, and even our cleaning products are eco-friendly, proving that tradition and innovation can share the same plate.

🐟 Responsibly Caught, Proudly Served

At Donington Fish and Chips, every piece of fish we serve is Certified — the gold standard for sustainability. This means our fish is responsibly caught, helping to protect ocean stocks, marine ecosystems, and future generations. Sourced from the cold, clean waters of the North East Atlantic, our fish comes from well-managed, sustainable fisheries. We work closely with Smales Fish Merchants — trusted experts with over 80 years of experience — who ensure full traceability and top-quality seafood every time.

📦 We Care About What Carries Your Chips

We use biodegradable packaging wherever possible, from our chip trays to our takeaway paper bags. It is designed to break-down naturally without leaving harmful waste behind. Choosing compostable and recyclable materials helps us cut down on single-use plastics and reduce our overall environmental impact. We keep it simple: packaging that does the job, protects your food, and respects the environment.

🥔 Locally Sourced Lincolnshire Potatoes

We use Lincolnshire-grown potatoes supplied by Paul Butterwick Potato Merchants. The variety changes with the season to ensure the best taste and texture, no gimmicks, just solid quality. Buying from British farms supports local growers and reduces transport miles. It’s a straightforward choice: proper spuds, grown nearby, chipped fresh, and cooked right.

🌍 Smarter Hygiene that does not hurt the Earth

We keep things spotless at Donington Fish and Chips, but not at the planet’s expense. That’s why we use cleaning products supplied by Ceres, a company committed to environmentally responsible solutions. Their range includes biodegradable formulas that work hard without relying on harsh chemicals, helping us maintain hygiene standards while being kinder to people and the environment. It is another simple, thoughtful choice: clean shop, clean conscience.
